Foundation to Hire Full-Time Director

The Woodbury Community Foundation is growing and expanding. As a result, the Foundation Board of Directors is pleased to announce its seeking a full-time Executive Director, who can share the Foundation’s passion for the community and for charitable giving.

“We’re very excited that the Woodbury Community Foundation and its community partnerships continue to prosper and do well,” says Claudia Millington, Chair Woodbury Community Foundation Board.  “A full-time Executive Director will help us move the Foundation to the next level, and help us continue to make Woodbury a great place to live and work, now and in the future.”

The Foundation contracted with Jeffrey Prottas of Nonprofit-360 Consulting in November 2014 to provide part-time staff leadership. ”Jeff provided important interim support as we redefined our strategic focus areas and reorganized our volunteer committee structure to address those priorities,” explained Millington. “We are grateful for Jeff’s help and are ready now to enlist full-time leadership as we move to the next phase of our growth and evolution,”

The Woodbury Community Foundation has evolved from its modest beginnings in 2003 with the Friends of Woodbury into today’s prosperous and thriving nonprofit organization, with its mission to strengthen Woodbury by connecting people and organizations with causes that matter.  The Foundation’s five strategic priorities are:  philanthropy, leadership, supporting one and other, enhancing the effectiveness of organization and identifying tomorrow’s needs today. These priorities support the Foundation’s innovative programs including Citizens’ Academy, Youth Leadership Development, and Business Education Partnership. This year, the Foundation also partnered with the City of Woodbury and several other community groups to host Woodbury’s 50th Anniversary Celebration in March 2017, which was tremendously successful and attracted more than 1,200 local residents.

The Woodbury Community Foundation is also the lead partner with the City of Woodbury, Washington County, Woodbury Chamber, HealthEast and 40 community organizations to help bring Woodbury THRIVES to life, which is a grassroots and collaborating effort to create a healthy Woodbury.

The Woodbury Community Foundation also helps manage funds for the Woodbury Heritage Society’s Miller Barn Fund, Christian Cupboard Emergency Food Shelf’s “Raise the Roof” capital campaign, Guider Fund, Restore America Fund and Youth Leadership Funds, as well as the Endowment for the Bruce Stafford Public Safety Funds and the Horizon Fund for Innovation.
