The Woodbury Community Foundation commissioned a Community Needs Survey from Wilder Research (we sent 4,000 random surveys to 20,000 households in Woodbury) in 2009. We had several key community partners: 3M Foundation, the Greater Twin Cities United Way, and United Way of Washington County East and received endorsements from City of Woodbury and Washington County. Our goal was to find the issues of greatest concern to Woodbury residents. We had a phenomenal response from our citizens. Results from survey (more than 930 received ~ about 24% response rate!) providing us with significant insight into what our citizens care about most. The four Key Initiatives that we are now working on include: YOUTH, JOBS, HOUSING and FOOD. We want to be a catalyst for change, search for gaps in service, and reach the disconnected.
