In 2010, Bill retired as Mayor of Woodbury after 18 years in public service.  He served on the City Council of Woodbury from 1992 to 1993 when he was appointed Mayor.  His civic involvements include the Woodbury Economic Development Authority, Chair of the Metropolitan Council Transportation Advisory Board Programming Committee, and Vice Chair of the Counties Transit Improvement Board GEARS (Grant Evaluation and Ranking System) Committee.  An attorney and CPA by training, Bill is currently self-employed as a real estate investor and financial/business consultant. He is the former Managing Partner/CEO of Good Neighbor, a health care provider.  Prior to founding Good Neighbor, he was a partner in the law firm of Doherty, Rumble & Butler.  He is also a volunteer baseball coach at Bethel University.  He and his wife Joan have lived in Woodbury more than 40 years and raised their two sons here.  Bill was selected as Woodbury Citizen of the Year in 2001.
