Dixie is a professional real estate agent and as such, has experienced and participated in the growth, development, and long range planning of Woodbury. Other experiences include chairing the Southeast Area YMCA and the Woodbury Guild Children’s Hospital Association, as well as serving with the Woodbury United Methodist Church and the Woodbury Chamber of Commerce. Dixie was selected Woodbury Citizen of the Year in 1995 by the Woodbury Chamber of Commerce. In April 2011, she was honored with a lifetime Community Involvement award from Community Thread and Washington County.
