The Woodbury Community Foundation has been making a huge difference in Woodbury through effective programs and partnering with others to address significant impact areas such as food insecurity, leadership development, jobs skill acquisition, health and wellness, civic engagement, the development of our youth, corporate engagement in philanthropy, and much more.
You can help advance that work as WCF joins with other Minnesota non-profits to raise money in what has become Minnesota’s biggest online giving day.
Close to 300 of you were with us a couple of weeks ago at Chef Fest 2015 at the Prom Center to help us celebrate the work that the Foundation does. We got a great start on our 2016 campaign by raising close to $40,000, but that isn’t quite enough.
One of our main objectives in 2016 is to begin a grants program for nonprofit organizations in Woodbury or who serve the residents of Woodbury. We need your support to be able to make that a reality. Imagine a program where nonprofit organizations could come and ask for much needed funds to help supplement services not able to be realized within the confines of their current budgets. Wouldn’t that make a difference?
The Foundation is also in the middle of a multi-year Legacy and Endowment Campaign aimed at raising close to $3 million to provide sustainable funding in the community for our various impact areas. This money could generate $150,000 a year to support our community. So, if you’ve thought about leaving a legacy, consider the Woodbury Community Foundation.
We know you’re busy, and we know we aren’t the first people to tell you about Give to the Max Day. But if you remember only one thing from this e-mail it should be that no single gift will touch more lives in Woodbury than a gift to the Woodbury Community Foundation.
