Congratulations to our graduates of the class of 2021! What began in 2009 as a group of 25 Woodbury residents has grown to a community of over 200 alumni who are actively engaged in a variety of ways.
The Citizens’ Academy develops future leaders who are so important to assuring a strong, robust Woodbury well into the future. It expands the knowledge of our citizens in a way that encourages more involvement in our community. Planned by a team of community members, each weekly session is focused on a different topic, including:
Cultural Competency and Diversity
Media and Communications
Each session provides front line exposure to how local public, private and nonprofit sectors work in their respective areas, as well as how, in unison, they make Woodbury an exceptional place to live and work.
Graduates of the Citizens Academy come away with greater community engagement, inspired volunteerism, and encouragement of philanthropy throughout our city.
Through 2021, over 200 people have graduated from the Academy.
