The goal of SoWashCo CARES (Community Action Reaching Every Student) is to have our community help our community! This Facebook page will post requests for specific items to help our students and families in need in South Washington County. Requested items could include food, clothes, toiletries, gas cards etc… The items can be dropped off at the school and will go directly to the students/families who need it! Thank you so much for your generosity!
Did you know 1 in 5 kids in South Washington County is at risk of missing a meal today?
Thankfully, our SoWashCo community cares deeply about this issue. South Washington County Schools and SoWashCo CARES are excited to partner with Second Harvest Heartland and Share Our Strength on an innovative new collaborative model to end child hunger. It’s called the No Kid Hungry initiative. This is a collective impact mission. We want to bring everyone to the table for this work!
Through the SoWashCo CARES Facebook page, followers in the community can see posts requesting specific items for families in need. Requested items could include food, clothes, toiletries, gas cards, and more. In partnership with ISD833, these items can be dropped off at schools throughout the
district, and go directly to the students and families who are in need.
SoWashCo CARES began with the narrow goal of meeting basic needs for our students, so they can focus on learning in school. We ask for your
support as we begin to broaden our scope to address the needs of our district as a whole. Please stay tuned and follow the SoWashCo CARES Facebook Page to learn more. It’s our community helping our community! Thank you so much! <3
