WCF was a hit at Woodbury Days! How exciting for us to announce and award $22,400 in grants to 10 community organizations during Woodbury Days! Eight of the ten community organizations joined Mayor Anne Burt and Jodi Ritacca on stage to receive their grants, including a Woodbury High School student leader, Naetwe Sempambo, who represented the Mental Health Club at WHS. Our grants are all made possible thanks to Dixie Ewing, to you and to all of our generous donors supporting WCF!
Our Foam Axe Throwing & Thrives Spinning Wheel games were HUGE hits at our booth – bringing smiles to the faces of hundreds of kids and families. We gave away 200 small toys, hundreds of lollipops and more than five cases of bottled water.
A special thank you to our incredible volunteers Vice Chair Matt Johnson and past Chair Roger Green, and our awesome WCF Marketing Committee: Anne Burt, Margaret Wachholz, Heidi Bardwell, Manali Shah, and Roger, as well as long-time Director Claudia Millington and new Director Lucilla Davila for volunteering all of your time to create greater awareness for WCF!
We can’t forget to thank our great community partners with the Woodbury Heritage Society who volunteered their time including Wayne, Patti, Sheila, Rick and Margaret, who had fun playing the games with the kids. Several people from the community, who are interested in volunteering, signed up to find out about volunteering opportunities through WCF at this Thursday’s 8.26.21 Champions Kick-off, at 3rd Act, 4:30-6:30pm. Please plan to stop by at the Champions Kick-Off. I hope you can all attend & our entire Board and committee members can be there. Thank you!
