WCF Partners with New Live Brand Fund

Woodbury Community Foundation announces new partnership with The Live Brave Fund, which serves to support awareness, prevention and recovery programs for eating disorders in our youth. The Live Brave Fund was formed to help expand the philanthropic reach created by the Live Brave 5K and 1 Mile events. The Fund creates the opportunity to not only help more people, but to leave a legacy far beyond what these events themselves can do.

The Live Brave Fund supports awareness, prevention and recovery programs for eating disorders in our youth population, and more broadly, youth mental health. Our mission is to break down the stigma of eating disorders and provide financial support to local non-profit organizations that advocate for eating disorders and the mental health of our youth population.

“With the Live Brave Fund, we are excited to be part of the Woodbury Community Foundation and join their long-standing efforts to connect and engage the community with important causes. With their support and guidance, we know the Live Brave Fund will have a profound impact year after year.”

The Live Brave Fund is supported by the Live Brave 5K and 1 Mile, annual road racing events taking place this year on August 12th, 2023. The Live Brave 5K and 1 MIle events were created in 2021 to bring the community together for a fun physical event and to rally around our cause of youth mental health – specifically eating disorders. We care about our community and understand the benefits that exercise has on not only our physical health but our mental health as well.

“One of the most important things that Live Brave does for people is it creates space to have difficult conversations around eating disorders that may not have otherwise happened. That’s the first step in a long line of steps towards both prevention and recovery.”
