Responding to the COVID-19 crisis, the Woodbury Community Foundation (WCF) is immediately giving away an additional $17,000 in WCF COVID-19 Emergency Grants to help more local families during this ongoing health and financial crisis. This latest round of WCF COVID-19 Emergency Grants brings the total amount of WCF emergency funding distributed here in Woodbury to $32,500 in the last four weeks.

“We’re so pleased to provide immediate help to hundreds of our local kids and families with this emergency funding,” said Roger Green, Chair, Woodbury Community Foundation.

“Responding to this rapidly emergency COVID-10 crisis, is how the Woodbury Community Foundation can make a difference in our community during this challenging time.”

The Woodbury Community Foundation is awarding the latest WCF 2020 COVID-19 Emergency Grants to local non-profits, which are improving community health and well-being, reducing hunger, increasing public safety, providing temporary housing and helping families affected
by domestic abuse.
Specifically, grants are being distributed to these organizations this week:

  • Hope for the Journey Home to provide temporary housing & food for families in need.
  • SoWashCo CARES to feed several hundred kids dependent on school lunches.
  • Youth Service Bureau to help local mental health needs for youth through telehealth.
  • Tubman to help women, men, youth and families who have experienced relationship violence, elder abuse, addiction and other forms of trauma.
  • Woodbury Public Safety to provide emergency aid to residents in crisis situations.
  • Christian Cupboard Emergency Food Shelf (CCEFS) to feed more than 1,000 local families, who may have never been to a food shelf before and now find themselves in need and turned to CCEFS for help recently.

Woodbury Community Foundation will continue to review new grant requests as the pandemic continues. Please send your COVID-19 Emergency Grant requests at: Wcf@woodburyfoundation.org

These COVID-19 Emergency Grants are made possible thanks to the generous support of local donors, a $5,000 donation to the fund from an anonymous donor, a grant from the MN Council on Foundations’ MN Disaster Recovery Fund, and those who generously gave to our “Chef Fest” event last fall. “The most direct and visible means of giving back is through our 2020 COVID-19 Emergency Grants Program,” said Roger Green. “Whatever you can give – be it $10 or $500 – will make a difference. Yes, it is tax deductible.” We are now participating in Giving Tuesday Now – a global effort on May 5 to raise more funds.
