Woodbury, MN – Aug. 19. 2022-The Woodbury Community Foundation (WCF) announces that it is giving away $20,000 in Community Grants to nonprofits which are helping local families struggling with food insecurity and mental health.
“We’re pleased to provide help to hundreds of our local kids and families in need,” said Matt Johnson, Chair, Woodbury Community Foundation. “Responding to community needs is how the Woodbury Community Foundation can make a difference in our community.”
The Woodbury Community Foundation is awarding 2022 WCF Grants to local non-profits, which are reducing hunger, improving health and well-being, increasing public safety and helping families affected by domestic abuse with a focus on diversity, equity and Inclusion, and mental health.
Specifically, grants are being distributed to these organizations:
- SoWashCo CARES to help several hundred kids dependent on basic needs.
- Open Cupboard (formerly CCEFS) to expand a mobile food shelf to feed more local families in need.
- Tubman to provide legal services to help local victims of domestic violence.
- Woodbury for Justice & Equality to bring awareness for inequities in our community.
- Woodbury Public Safety to provide emergency aid to residents in crisis situations.
These WCF 2022 Community Grants are made possible thanks to the generous support of local donors, including a $5,000 donation from WCF Founder, Dixie Ewing, and those who generously gave during our annual fundraiser “Friends Fest” earlier this Spring.
